Hi Switcher, if version is still showing up, you can manually delete those php lines from the footer/header files. I'm sure it will work fine.

I added the remove_action, line to my "function.p hp" file, & it locked up my entire admin & site.

I got it back up & running, thru my cpanel. :)

I added the code 1 line below the "< ?p hp" (at the top of the page)

The security plugin, says that my wordpress version number, is hidden, but that's not true.

When I view my frontpage source, the version number is right at the top of the page.

I'm running a 3rd party theme, so I'm not sure If that has anything to do with the above p hp code locking up the site?

I'll check with the theme builder, it's an seo theme, so maybe they have something working against the code, that I don't know about?
