Old wine in new bottle

Pick some of your old popular posts, and add some spice in them. Extend them a bit further and change the layout of post including fresh images in them. Working on old post is not time consuming and you will get new fresh content in no time.

Reward visitors

To encourage more interaction, reward frequent commentators. It will motivate other readers to interact with you and thus your blog will not appear stagnant. Announce quizzes and competitions and reward your subscribers. It is one of most popular idea of keeping the blog alive and at the same time inflating your subscriber count.

Polls

Every week, create a poll for your readers. It will keep your sidebar lively, and will keep the visitors coming back to participate in the poll. Remember, to make your polls a hit, choose a question related to current happenings in your niche.

Interact through alternative sources

Encourage your readers to interact with you through twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media services. Keep your activities and feeds linked with these services. It will help your followers to remain updated about you and your blog activities.

Invite guest posts

Do not hesitate in inviting guest bloggers to write a post for your blog. You and your readers will both benefit from it. It may happen that you may get so much content, that for next 2-3 months you do not have to worry about picking the pen. Do not blindly accept the guest posts requests. Visit the blog of the writer and assess the quality of his work before accepting the guest post.

Take out more time in weekends and create as many posts as you can in advance for the whole week. By using these techniques, you can keep your blog lively, even in your tight schedule.
